As I mentioned in my artist statement, neurogenesis and tree growth follow the same patterns found in river branching and lightning, all of which appear random and disorderly. Yet, there is a single elegant mathematical equation that describes all these patterns. Just as the world appears to be chaotic, order is pervasive behind the apparent chaos.
